Some confusion has been expressed as to whether we should stand or kneel for the singing of the Great Amen. The General Instruction of the Roman Missal tells us that the people should remain kneeling until after the completion of the Great Amen. After the Great Amen we stand in readiness for the Lord’s Prayer. I hope this is helpful. Father Frank.|

Many thanks for all the gifts donated this Advent. We were able to hand over 60 gifts to Father Hudson’s Care which were gratefully received and were being immediately distributed to those in need. Thanks as well to those who helped distribute the local gifts. It was a great effort from all. Thanks – Claire.
Welcome to Fr Chris, from Leamington Spa, who is the Celebrant at the Mass today
Thanks once more for your cards, gifts, kindness and support. I am overwhelmed by your generosity. Also, I am grateful for all the work you put in to ensuring that there is a Eucharistic presence in this place. Together, by faithfully assembling week by week, we ensure that we witness to the love, light and hope of Christ and his in-breaking Kingdom. That is the distinctive and incomparable gift we are called to offer to the world through our assembly as the Church, but, in order for this to happen, many have to give of their time and energy in raising funds and being responsible for day to day administration and maintenance. May the Lord bless you for your hard work on behalf of Christ and his Kingdom. It is a privilege and a joy to share with you in this service. Fr Frank.
Fr Frank will be taking his post-Christmas break from Wednesday of this week, returning on Thursday 10th January 2019.

Father Hudson's Care is having their Christmas Carol Celebration this Tuesday December 18th. It will be held in The Parish Church, Sacred Heart & St. Teresa, Coventry Road, Coleshill, B46 3EA. The Celebration will begin at 11.30. It will be led by Archbishop Bernard Longley and will be followed by a Buffet Lunch at St George's House, which is at the back of The Church. You are all invited. If you are thinking of going, please let Maureen know. Her phone number is 01676 533259.
Our Carol Service will be held on 16th December at 6.30pm. Please come along and enjoy readings, choral music and congregational hymns. Mulled wine, non-alcholoic drinks and mince pies will be available after the service.
Over the years Blessed Robert Grissold has generously allowed the local community to use its land when needed despite there never being public access over the site (except the public footpath that runs to Barratts Lane). The parish in conjunction with the Archdiocese has reviewed the future of the site and its security. In those circumstances it has been decided to fence the site. We have no desire to stop legitimate public access and therefore the public footpath remains available for all people wishing to use it. We understand that there may be some inconvenience but we hope that those who are looking for public open space will be able to find it in more formally laid out places in the vicinity.
We will need some mince pies to eat while we are supping our mulled wine. If you are able to help with these please put your name and quantity on the register in the Narthex. Thank you.
Congratulations to 1st Prize No 12 £75.00 Calum Bennett, 2nd Prize No 22 £45.00 Ann Dodd, 3rd Prize No 77 £30.00 Margaret McLellan

I have put some "World Gifts" booklets at the back of the church, from which you can choose gifts for everyone who does not really need anything for Christmas! The gifts start at £4 for a queen bee, providing the family with honey! £7 buys a simple mosquito net, treated with strong repellent which will keep families safe from disease. You can buy goats, pigs, llama's or even a cow providing milk, manure, and wool for clothing. Producing piglets, calves etc that can be then given to other families to continue the cycle. There are many more gifts that can help reduce poverty. Please take a booklet or look online at cafod.org.uk/Give/world-gifts. Thanks. Chris Lynn
The Diocesan Trustees have ordered the erection of a fence in the land adjacent to the church, in order to identify the ownership of the field, also maintaining the public footpath at its present position.
On the First Friday of every month there is a Mass of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. St Margaret Mary received the vision of Christ which led to the devotion to the Sacred Heart. At the Consecration of our church a relic of Saint Margaret Mary was sealed in our altar giving us a special connection with this holy devotion. During the Year of Priests, the Mass on the Votive Mass of the Sacred Heart will be offered up for the Priests of the Archdiocese.
There will be a Mass with the Sacrament for the Anointing for the Sick on Thursday 6th December at 6.00pm. The Sacrament of Anointing supports the sick in their struggle against illness and continues Christ’s work of healing. This Mass will be followed by Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, silent prayer and meditations until Benediction at 7.00pm. This week we will be meditating on the readings of the Second Sunday in Advent. All welcome.
