|09.07.2016||Church Consecration – Final Details and Arrangements: Welcome||On Saturday 9th July at 12 noon we welcome Archbishop Bernard to consecrate our church. The Rite of Consecration will involve the blessing of the church and altar with holy water and oil and the relic of St Margaret Mary will be sealed in the altar upon which incense will be burned. This is a very special celebration and an important moment in the history of our community. Please be seated by 11.45 am so we can be ready in good time before the Archbishop starts|

The practice of being anointed with oil as a powerful prayer for strengthening and healing dates back to the earliest Church. Scripture bears witness to this when it says: “Are there any who are sick among you? Let them send for the priests of the Church and let the priests pray over them, anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will save the sick persons, and the Lord will raise them up; and if they have committed any sins their sins will be forgiven them.|

Car Park Cleaning

Our Millennium Breakfast on Sunday, 7th October raised £122.80, which along with £167.20 from the sale of Peruvian Handicrafts made a grand total of £290.00. This has now been sent to Fr Ed in Peru. A huge thank you to all who supported these events.

October is the month of the Rosary - please try to recite at least a decade of the rosary in every day of October.
Peruvian Handicraft Sale
There will be a sale on Sunday 30th September of Peruvian Handicrafts that have just arrived from the Women’s Cooperative within Father Ed’s Parish in Lima, Peru. Start your Christmas shopping early and avoid the crowds!

Father Dennis Manion
It is with deep sadness that we report that Father Dennis Manion, our Parish Priest between 1975 and 1988 died yesterday. Mass on the 15th August (the feast of the Assumption) will be for the repose of his soul. Please remember him in your prayers.
First Holy Communion

Black & White Parish Dinner

First Holy Communion Instruction
The next course of instruction for young people wishing to make their First Confession and Holy Communion began on 5th March. Meetings will take place every Monday at 6.15pm in the Parish Room.
The curry evening on Sunday 3rd February was a great success and raised ?916 for the Jesus Youth.
