Whilst Sunday Mass is at the core of the parish, there are many other events that take place throughout the year. These events give the opportunity to get together to raise money for the church or one of the charities we support or to celebrate a particular occasion. | 09.07.2016 | Church Consecration – Final Details and Arrangements: Welcome | On Saturday 9th July at 12 noon we welcome Archbishop Bernard to consecrate our church. The Rite of Consecration will involve the blessing of the church and altar with holy water and oil and the relic of St Margaret Mary will be sealed in the altar upon which incense will be burned. This is a very special celebration and an important moment in the history of our community. Please be seated by 11.45 am so we can be ready in good time before the Archbishop starts |

The practice of being anointed with oil as a powerful prayer for strengthening and healing dates back to the earliest Church. Scripture bears witness to this when it says: “Are there any who are sick among you? Let them send for the priests of the Church and let the priests pray over them, anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will save the sick persons, and the Lord will raise them up; and if they have committed any sins their sins will be forgiven them. |

These are blessed by the Archbishop and lit as part of the service. Afterwards, they will be lit on special occasions throughout the year. If anyone would like to donate one of these in memory of a loved one, the cost of each cross and candle is £150. Please speak to Joe Martin |

The raffle has been a great fund-raiser and has raised over £1,000. It was drawn last Sunday at the Knowle fun run and the good news is that out of the 12 prizes, 5 were won by parishioners of Blessed Robert Grissold! Kathryn will be in the narthex after mass today to hand out the prizes to the lucky winners, and the full list of prize winners is also available |

She is currently fundraising for her trip and has been awarded a bursary from the Catenian Association which will be presented to her at the end of Mass today by her Grandfather Brian Green (the Secretary of the Redditch Catenian Circle). Next week she will also be selling raffle tickets after mass to raise money. Any support you can give her would be much appreciated |

Millennium Breakfast No.60
Our Breakfast on Sunday raised £156.10 and we thank everyone for your generosity. We also counted £75 from the Bottle so we are able to send £231.10 to Fr Ed. He will be delighted. Many of you will have read his letter to our Parish and you can see how he has helped to change the lives of many poor children and adults over the last 16 years. Fr Ed will be in England later this year and we hope he will be able to visit BRG.

Millennium Project
Our next Breakfast number 60 will be on April 17th. There will be the usual selection of warm croissants, toast, jam, orange juice and tea/coffee. Everyone is welcome and it is a chance to meet other parishioners and newcomers to our Church. We will be grateful for donations which will be sent to Fr Ed a Columban Priest who is working with the poor in Lima, Peru.

Kathryn Green is going to South Africa
Kathryn is going to South Africa for a month this July to teach in a rural school with a group of young volunteers. She is currently fundraising for her trip and has been awarded a bursary from the Catenian Association which will be presented to her at the end of Mass today by her Grandfather Brian Green (the Secretary of the Redditch Catenian Circle). Next week she will also be selling raffle tickets after mass to raise money. Any support you can give her would be much appreciated
