Welcome to our new website. 2016 was a very special year for our parish. In July of that year, our church was consecrated by Archbishop Bernard Longley. To commemorate this event, our website was redesigned and modernised to work across a variety of devices such as laptops, desktops, tablets and smart phones. As always, we are dependant on you to provide feedback on this site so please let us know what you think using the contact us page here.
Stop Press! Our parish church was consecrated on 9th July 2016. Come back soon to see a full report on the preparations and the Consecration Mass presided over by Archbishop Bernard Longley here

Jesus calls us to serve him and follow him - to conversion. To turn away from sin - from all that harms our relationship with God and with our neighbour and to turn toward him, to serve him, do his will, to be faithful to our baptismal vocation. Conversion is a gift from God, won for us through the sacrifice of Christ and we must ask for it through fervent prayer in order that we might know the power of Christ's Resurrection working in our lives

The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick is offered on the last Thursday of every month. All those who are challenged by their suffering in body, mind or spirit are welcome to receive this sacrament of Christ's healing. This is a practice which dates back to the earliest Church and is encouraged in scripture, where it is written: 'Are there any who are sick among you? Let them send for the priests of the Church, and let the priests pray over them, anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will save the sick persons, and if they have committed any sins, their sins will be forgiven them.'.
Lent begins at 7.00pm on Wednesday 14th February with the customary imposition of ashes at Mass. After Mass there will be the usual Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament with meditations and silent prayer for half an hour, leading up to Benediction. The meditations on Wednesday evenings during Lent will be concerned with our growing in the life of Christ. All welcome

These will take place in the church hall at 7.30 p.m. on Thursday evenings in Lent, after the 7.00 p.m. Mass. We will reflect together on the Parable of the Lost Son (The Prodigal Son) which is a model for the Church's understanding of the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession). Please bring your Bible. All welcome.

Breakfast and talks, organised by Churches Together in Balsall and Berkswell; this year's theme is 'What does Christianity have to say about…Equality / Freedom democracy / Rule of law / Tolerance?' The children's liturgy team is looking for people to act as session chaperones a couple of times a term. There's no need to commit to leading a session (unless you want to!). You just need to be over age 18 and happy to provide a couple of references for the volunteer safeguarding process. We usually have great fun with our children's liturgy group - it's a lovely way to contribute to the running of the church!
I hope that you have found praying the Rosary before Mass has been useful in instilling the discipline of preparing prayerfully for the Holy Sacrament but I understand that some may prefer to prepare for the Eucharist in silence - So from the beginning of Lent, let us prepare for the Mass with silent prayer. Those who still wish to pray the Rosary can continue to do so in silence. The important thing is for us not to lose the habit of quietly and prayerfully preparing for the Mass. Please help one another to do this, by keeping as quiet as possible when we enter church. Thank you for your cooperation in helping one another to prepare properly for the Sacrament of Christ‘s Body and Blood.
We meet on Wednesday 7th February at 10.30am in the Parish Room for coffee, cakes and a chat. All welcome.
The candle is lit this week for Becky Hulme (RIP).
