Safespaces is a free and independent support service, providing a confidential, personal and safe space for anyone who has been abused by someone in the Church or as a result of their relationship with the Church of England, the Catholic Church in England and Wales or the Church in Wales. If you have been affected, however long ago, Safe Spaces can provide you with support. You do not have to have told the police or the church authorities, and you do not have to still be involved with the church. The Isaiah Journey The Isaiah Journey is a working group of the Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales which has grown out of the need for a pastoral-spiritual response to the suffering of victims and survivors of abuse in the Church. It provides A Guide for Survivors of Abuse that can be found here.

18.01.2026Churches Together Service for Christian UnityA service for Christian Unity will be held today, 18th January at 4pm at St John the Baptist Church Berkswell. The theme this year is ‘Light from Light for Light’ and it has been prepared by the Armenian Apostolic Church. All welcome, light refreshments will be served.
27.01.2026Weekday Mass this TuesdayThere will be no weekday mass this Tuesday. Fr. Frank will be taking his post-Christmas break at this time, apologies for any inconvenience.
01.02.2026Reception of Adults into full Communion with the ChurchIf any adults are interested in entering into full Communion with the Catholic Church, please contact Fr Frank ASAP as formation will begin shortly

01.02.2026Healthcare Volunteers in LourdesAre you a doctor, nurse or carer? Would you consider donating your time and expertise on next year’s Lourdes Pilgrimage? Every year sick pilgrims are able to make the journey to Lourdes thanks to the support of a dedicated Healthcare Team. Without their expertise many pilgrims would not be able to go. If you are a healthcare professional and would like to try something new, please consider joining us. You will make a real difference. 01.02.2026Planned GivingThank you to everyone who responded to our first Planned Giving event by taking out a new standing order (or increasing an existing standing order) and/or signing up for Gift Aid. If you haven’t yet set up a standing order or Gift Aid and would like to do so, Iain Butlin-Moran will be available in the Narthex for the next few Sundays with forms and details of how to set these up.
11.02.2026Parish Coffee MorningThe next Parish Coffee morning will be in the Narthex at 10.30am on 11th February with coffee and tea, cakes, scones and good conversation. If you haven’t been before, give it a try - you will be made very welcome!
15.02.2026Adoration of the Blessed SacramentMass on the First Tuesday of each month will be followed by Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament with Benediction at 11:00am.

21.02.2026Lent BreakfastsAs usual the Methodist Church is the venue for the Churches Together Lenten Breakfast talks. The theme is “Good Books”. These will be each Saturday morning from 21st February until 21st March, breakfast from 8.45am (pastries, tea & coffee) donations please. The talk begins at 9.00am. Each church will act as host in turn. Blessed Robert Grissold will be hosting on 7th March. Volunteers welcome
22.02.2026Prayer TreeAll are invited to use our Prayer Tree in the Narthex. Take a tag, date it, write your prayer, and hang it on the tree. Prayers stay on the tree for one month and are shared at prayer group meetings

06.03.2026World Day of PrayerThis years’ service, prepared by the people of Nigeria, will be held at the Methodist Church on Friday 6th March at 6.30pm and will be followed by light refreshments. Everyone is welcome.

Our Millennium Breakfast No. 61 was a great success and we can now send £211 to help Fr Ed in Peru. This amount is the most we have made for a Breakfast and we thank everyone for your generosity. Fr Ed will be delighted and he will be able to help some of the poor living in shanty towns in Peru.

Project Host. Please remember that the provision of cakes with tea and coffee after mass next Sunday will give you an opportunity to make a donation to the joint Save the Children & Churches Together Project supporting the children of Syria.

As part of a special feature in the Christmas newsletter about the Consecration of our church, we would like as many parishioners as possible to share their memories of the special day and the work that went into preparing for it. We will be handing out slips at mass next week, 20th November, for you to write a sentence or two (or more if you wish!) on your own particular experiences. We need your contributions of articles and photos for our Christmas newsletter. If you’ve never written for the newsletters before, this would be an ideal time to try it as we’ve had such a busy year! Perhaps you could give a behind-the scenes look at some of the preparations for the consecration, or review a parish event, or share your experience of the weekly meditations and reflections after mass, or write about some other aspect of parish life. Our 61st Breakfast will be on Sunday November 6th after Mass.  There will be the usual menu of orange juice, warm croissants, toast, butter, jam, tea & coffee all for a donation of £2.  Everyone is welcome, so please come and join us. There will be a chance to meet and chat with other parishioners

A tray will be placed in front of the altar from this Sunday to receive Mass intentions for your loved ones to be prayed for at the Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed which will take place at 7.00pm on Wednesday 2nd November. There are envelopes for your prayer intentions and offerings at the back of the church. Please write the names of your loved ones on the envelope and place them in the tray in front of the altar. We will pray for those named at the Mass of the Solemnity of All Souls and at Masses throughout the month of November.

We are looking for some more volunteers to be church wardens and join our existing teams. The main duties are to welcome parishioners and visitors to Mass and help with the collections. Your turn only comes round about every eight weeks. If you are willing to help please give your name to Joe Martin after Mass.
